ABOUT THE PHOTOSHOOT

Jessica, friend and owner of Headbands of Hope contacted me last May regarding a young girl name Mellie she had met at the Make-A-Wish Ball in North Carolina.  Mellie’s dream was to be a model.  Last year Mellie had the opportunity to go to the International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) with A-List Models and Talent in Raleigh, NC with the combined help and support of IMTA, A-List Models and Talent, and Make-A-Wish of Eastern NC.  So awesome!  Her dream was already starting to come true!!

For our photoshoot with Mellie, this wasn’t her first time modeling; but was her first time working with Headbands of Hope and of course ME!

MEET MELLIE

Mellie is a 16 year old BEAUTIFUL girl with many illness’s.  One being Gastroparesis leaving her unable to eat and is fed 24 hours a day via GJ-tube which goes from her stomach down into the intestine.  This illness does NOT get her down!  She has such high spirits all the time, even when she is in the hospital!  Everyday is a fight to survive and she aspires to be an inspiration to others.  What I love about her most is she is a sister in Christ.  She loves Jesus as her personal savior!!

Mellie was honored to give back to the community as much as we were there to make this day amazingly special for her!
